It’s £1 each for a permit from a wee coffee can and could easily spend hours wandering about the place. Farm shop is more a butchers/grocery than deli but picked up brioche rolls and some salami for a picnic that I obviously wasn’t organised enough to make before leaving the house this morning!

Please come support this plant sale - the hall my Cub Scouts meets in needs a new roof - totally £90K 😳 So every penny counts and the explorers have got £500 worth of plants to sell!! If anyone knows of any businesses willing to match fund the plant sale please let me know. All the leaders are soon to be pros in writing grant applications as we just had to fund raise to fix the electrics! The hall is in Broomhouse and so many groups meet there that benefit the local kids. We make our way over there each week as they made room for Thomas and I when everywhere in our part of the city was full... it’s often the best part of my week!

Since then, it’s been my go-to when I’ve feared I’m on the cusp of killing my plants! Since it’s the holidays and I’m actually free on a Thursday, I booked a home visit as I had no idea how to get my monstera (I’ll share on stories) into the car without further damaging it! It also meant that I could spend a lovely hour or so catching up with Rosie! So, if you’re local to Edinburgh then I’d very much recommend popping in to the shop with your house plant woes! All the staff there are great and in my mind, this was money well spent as my plants should now be feeling far more confident about survival! #plantsplantsplants #lovelocal #localesinburgh #northedinburgh #hildaplantshop

There was so much to do there anyway (soft play, train rides, zip lines, toboggan rides, loads of animals, huge play areas, trampolines... the list goes on). But a lot of that is more suitable for younger children - the Ruined Peel felt more adventurous so even Kate (aged 11 but going on 19) had fun! Thanks to @almondvalleyhc for inviting us!
