Her one request was that her late husband featured - because they are “family photos” - if that’s not the power of photography right there, I don’t know what is. I loved doing this so much. (Also this house had a rock collection cabinet of my childhood dreams.) We had a short walk, cake, knitting with grandma and look through some old albums. Perfect.

We were talking about things and she was saying just how much regular photos in their home meant (they do a session every year). Seeing both their family change but also their home evolve over time. I know the connection I have to sessions of my own family at home are the most meaningful. I recently ran a very limited winter in home special for in home sessions that didn’t even make it to instagram because they were snapped up, if you’re not on my mailing list you can join via the link in my bio.
